Overview:
Sharing Contact Groups can be a great time saver when multiple people need to continuously e-mail the same groups of individuals (for more details see Sharing Contact Groups below). You can easily import a Contact Group that was e-mailed to you as an attachment.
Sharing Contact Groups
You can easily share your Contact Groups by attaching them to e-mail. There are several ways of attaching Contact Groups. Below is the fastest way to share a Contact Group.
- Start a new e-mail message.
- In Outlook, display the People folder.
- Locate and drag the desired Contact Group onto the new e-mail. Outlook will attach the Contact Group to the e-mail in the form of a vCard.
- Complete and send the e-mail as you would any other.
Forwarding Contact Groups
- In Outlook, open the Contacts folder and select the contact item you want to send:
- Do one of the following:
- On the ribbon, Home, in theShare group, select the Forward Contact list and then choose As an Outlook Contact.
- Right-click the contact and choose Forward Contact -> As an Outlook Contact.
Importing Contact Groups
- Open the e-mail containing the Contact Group.
- In Outlook, open the Contacts view.
- Drag the Contact Group attachment from the e-mail message onto the desired Contacts folder. Outlook automatically creates the contact entries for you:
