What it does: The message feature lets you send and receive messages, similar to a group message using SMS. The message will go to all users within the selected building. Members can send panic message giving GPS location with short notes included if needed. Only building administrators will receive the panic message. They can send a reply, which will go to all listed users in the group/building. How to use it: Open CrisisGo App > select school or group > type message (hit the + button in bottom right to view different options to send: picture, audio, video, location, file, or email) (click on the person icon in bottom left to send message directly to any member of the group) > once message is ready - hit send.

CHECKLIST. What it does: The checklist feature will display the crisis type and “to do checklists” for various roles in accordance with the crisis plan. MSBSD has populated this section with existing flipcharts. How to use it: Open CrisisGo App > select role > select crisis > select type of crisis selected > view/check checklist > hit submit in top right corner. When viewing the checklist you can mark each item, giving you a time stamp it was checked. Click the notepad icon on the right side of the item listed to add any notes. Rosters, if utilized will appear on the console of CrisisGo as a viewable report.

What it does: The maps feature displays various PDFs saved to the app. MSBSD has populated this section with school emergency operations plans (EOPs). School staff will only have access to their school specific EOP. How to use it: Open CrisisGo App > select school > select school name for map or another option > pinch to zoom around map.

What it does: The contacts feature will show you contact information for any district employee. Items include phone number and email, which can be chosen and used within the app for phone call or email. MSBSD has populated this section with key staff contact numbers and email addresses, as well as select external contacts, such as local fire departments. How to use it: Open CrisisGo App > select contacts > select internal (or external for contacts outside the district) > select school > select school again > select person > view information and scroll for more information.

What it does: The objective of this behavioral threat assessment process is to determine if a student poses a threat to the safety of others or to the school. The school Behavioral Threat Management (BTM) team will initiate this process when there is a report that a student makes a verbal or written threat, uses threatening behavior, or if there is concern that the student’s behavior or communication indicates an escalation in the potential for targeted violence or may pose a threat to the safety of the school, students,or staff. The threat assessment module in CrisisGo is intended to automate the workflow for this process.
