The Assign screen is used to assign an asset to either a student, staff, or location. The screen is optimized for use with barcode scanners which streamlines the assignment process.
- Verify that the 'Case' and 'Power Adapter' checkboxes are selected if they are being issued with a device.
- Scan or enter the location or user ID in the Location/User ID field. If the User ID is unknown then you can use the Search box to search by name.
- Scan or enter the Asset ID or Serial # in the Asset ID/SN field. Press tab on your keyboard or select the next field. 'Search' will open additional fields to search for users.
- Select an option for the Asset Condition field. During the 2022 initial 1:1 deployment, please select 'Excellent' for all Lenovo Chromebooks and 'Good' for all Dell Chromebooks.
- Ensure the Submit Action field is defaulted to Held by and Assigned. (The default Action can be changed in the system settings)
- Held by and Assigned should be the selection here unless you want to only update the Held by field only. For example, if a student's device is taken up at the end of the school year and they will be assigned that same device the following school year. That device's Held by field can be updated to be held by school inventory over the summer then reassigned to the student in the Fall.
- For Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade students, select assign and held by and then repeat this process for the asset and select "
- Click the Submit button to finish assigning the asset. You can also click the Reset button to clear out the previously mentioned fields.
