Campus User - Entering an Absence

Body

Overview:

Follow these instructions to assign a sub to an absence.

Instructions:

  1. Sign in to Absence Management using the ID and PIN provided by the Mat-Su Borough School District.
  2. From your homepage, click on the absences tab and create abscence.

  3. Once the Create Absence page loads, type the first letter of the last name or the last name of the employee that you are trying to enter the absence for and select the option you are looking for. For example, Angel, Olena.

  4. Then fill out the details of the absence. You can select a full day, half day, or custom time for the employee’s absence. Then click on the chain icon to change the substitute’s report time. You will also want to select the account code that you will be using for this absence. If no substitute is required, you can select the white circular button, under “substitute required,” to change the absence.

  5. Notes & Attachments can be added for the substitutes, the employee absent, and the principal. Then select “review & confirm.”

  6. If all of the fields look correct, select create absence or create and assign sub, if you already have a sub confirmed.

  7. A search box will come up for you to look for the sub that you want to add to this position, if you select “Create Absence and Assign Sub.” Type the substitute’s last name in the box and they should come up for you to assign to the position.

  8. If you select “Create Absence” and do not assign a sub, the absence will go out to the substitute pool to fill. However, if you have a building sub, the building sub will automatically be assigned to the position, if they have that time available within 7 days of the absence. If this happens and you do not want the building sub to fill this position, you can remove the building sub and the position will continue to search for other subs,
