Justification of credits:

  1. AMYA is accredited through AdvancEd. They serve youth from around the state with a limited staff. Offering an “integrated” core meets the greater need of their student population.  All students earn upon graduation a minimum of 7.5 credits
  2. This is a common practice in Alaskan school districts where districts allow AMYA core credits to be recognized in meeting specific graduation requirements. These districts have the mindset of wanting to move these at-risk students forward in their education by recognizing the courses through a broad lens (individual need) vs. a narrow, rigid course requirement.
