Overview:
Use this Knowledge Base article for Workflows install on a new computer, or a computer that has been re-imaged.
Instructions:
Requirements:
- BEFORE re-imaging a computer follow the procedure in the “Workflows Copy Property Process” KB article linked below to copy and save your existing properties and preferences.
- You must have a Supervisor login and password. (Ex. COMSSUP.) For assistance with logins submit a Request for Service below.
Install:
- Download the installer to your computer by going to the Windows Software Center. The Software Center can be found by typing “Software” into the Windows Search box on the lower left corner of your screen. (If the Workflows Installer is not in your Software Center enter a ticket or call the District Call Center.)
- Double click Workflows icon on your desktop.
- Enter jlc-socrates.uaa.alaska.edu in the IP address dialog box.
- Note: always leave the box checked for “show this window on next startup.”
- Click OK
- Login using your SUP login (XXXXSUP) where XXXX is the school code such as COMS or SHEL. Submit a request for service if you do not have a SUP login.
- Click OK.
- At the Update Client? prompt, click OK
- After update is complete, click OK to close session
- Restart Workflows---Double click Workflows icon on desktop
- Again, answer YES to Update client?
- After update is finished, click Finish
- Restart Workflows -- Double click Workflows icon to start program
- Click OK to close Configuration box. Do not change any settings.
- Login to Workflows.
The install should now be complete.
(With the July 2018 update there may be another update and restart cycle to complete.)
NEXT: The Circulation and Cataloging properties will need to be set. They can be set by going through each of the menu properties, or by copying properties from another computer or saved property/preference file and saving to the new installation.
