Exposure Control Plan

Overview:

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District (MSBSD) is committed to providing a safe work environment for our employees and students. In pursuit if this goal, the following Exposure Control Plan (ECP) is provided to eliminate or minimize occupational exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) in accordance with OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1030.

The ECP is a key document to assist MSBSD in implementing and ensuring compliance with the standard, thereby protecting our employees and students. This ECP includes:

1. Determination of employee exposure
2. Implementation of various methods of exposure control, including
   1. Universal Precautions
   2. Engineering and work practice controls
   3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
   4. Housekeeping
3. Hepatitis B Vaccination (HBV)
4. Post-exposure evaluation and follow-up
5. Procedures for evaluation circumstances surrounding exposure incidents
6. Record Keeping
