Logging Into Brightly (Facility Use)See More

Go to Employee Quick Links.
Click on the "Brightly (Facility Use)" link.
Click on the button "Sign in Using Network ID".
- NOTE: Do not use the email sign-in.
This will take you to the Calendar view. Use the Manage button at the top to get to the administrator portal.

Quick Filter SetupSee More

To ensure you see all pending events for your selected location, you must first create a filter. To do this, follow the instructions below:

Ensure sure you are focused to your school.
Go to the "Pending Events" section.
In the date range custom date range, clear out the date fields.
Check the box for "Community Site".
- Your own location should already be selected.
Click "Apply" at the bottom.
At the top, select "Expand Quick Filter", then click "Add Filter"
In the "Name" field, type "All Events Pending My Approval (Community and School Calendar)"
Check the "Set as Default" box to save this filter for future use.
Your school and the Community Site should appear in the box.
Click "SAVE".

Creating Events

Navigate to the Employee Quick Links on our website.
Click on "Brightly".
At the top right, make sure your focus is set to the correct school.
Click "CREATE AN EVENT" at the top left of the screen.
Fill out the form. Asterisks ( * ) indicate required fields.

Form Items

Event Details: Basic information regarding the event.
- Event Title: The name of your event.
- Event Description: A longer description of your event (optional).
- Event Summary: A brief description of your event's purpose.
Location and Time: When and where the event is to be held.
- Multiple-Day Options: Accessed by clicking on the pencil icon.
  - Consecutive Dates: For events that take place over the course of multiple days in a row.
  - Non-Consecutive Dates: For events that re-occur on select days.
- Sleepovers: For sleepovers, precede the event title with "OVERNIGHT – ", then select "+ Add Time", set the time from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM, click the arrow to the next day, and extend it to the appropriate end time.
  - NOTE: Do not check the box for "Event crosses into next day."
- Public/Private/Unlisted Event: Defines how the event will appear on the school calendar.
  - Public Events: Visible on the public-facing school calendar.
  - Private Events: Visible only to those logged in with sufficient rights.
  - Unlisted Events: Visible only to users with access to the event URL.
- Setup/Breakdown: Blocks out additional time before and after the event, without affecting the event's listed times.
Pictures and Attachments: For attaching e.g. marketing images or program flyers.
Tasks: Add a "Custodial Services Requested" task as required.
- NOTE: Custodians are required to be on-site for sleepovers.
Additional Information: Required information for supporting and organizing events.

How to Create an Event at Another SchoolSee More

Navigate to the Community Quick Links on our website.
Click on "Community Use (Facilities)":
Click on "COMMUNITY CALENDAR":
Pick a school from the mascots shown:
If you are not already signed-in, you will be prompted to do so.
- Employees must select "SIGN IN USING NETWORK ID".
Click "MY PROFILE" on the top right of the screen.
Click "CREATE AN EVENT" on the top left of the screen.
Fill out and submit the event request form.

Pending and Approving EventsSee More

Events List: Displays details about scheduled events. You can click on the event to reveal more details.
- If no organization name is listed, then this is an internal event.
- If an event is put in by the school's admins, it will be automatically approved.
Event History: Shows the processes the event has gone through.
Review Event: Shows the event request and relevant information.
- NOTE: Review-only; events cannot be approved here.
Pending Events: Lists events waiting for approval. In order to approve an event:
- Select the Actions button.
- Review the event.
- Select Approve or Deny.
- If the event is part of a series, and one of the dates in that series is unable to be approved, contact the event requestor and have them select a new time slot.

Troubleshooting Tips and TricksSee More

Sign in issues
1. Clear Browser history, see linked article for instructions.
2. Check to see if browser is updating, on Chrome go to 3 dots in the top right corner, Settings, bottom of menu on left, About Chrome.
3. If you click the Sign in with Network ID and it asks for a log in you can sign in using the O365 format or go to Employee Quick links and click the 0365 link, once you are signed into 0365, click the Brightly link and try again.
